About the Course
The Department of History was established in the year 2005. The teaching of History to aspiring women students hailing from rural backgrounds of the society was envisaged by the Government of Puducherry paving way to the establishment of the department. The Department with a dedicated group of scholarly faculty members provides quality higher education in the broad area of History ranging from the Ancient to the Post-Modern era as per the curriculum of the Pondicherry Central University. Apart from being inculcated with an academic knowledge of history, the students are encouraged with Historical Field Visits, co-curricular activities and exposure to talks by subject experts. The passed out graduates of this department are well-placed in the Government and in reputed organizations across Puducherry and Tamilnadu.

Eligibility criteria : H.Sc,(+2) or its Equivalent.
