About the Course
The Government of Pondicherry granted approval to introduce B.Sc Psychology from the academic year 2019-20 onwards, which is a significant milestone in the history of the college.
Psychology is a career oriented applied science course, where the students get theoretical knowledge and practical training in understanding the human mind and behavior.
Psychology is gaining recognition as a “STEM” (Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics) discipline. Students will be exposed to a range of fields of psychology and practical skills during their course of study. Students will be given choices to opt for an elective course for the specific domain as per the guidelines of the CBCS.
On completion of their under-graduation, students can continue M.Sc. Psychology specializing in Clinical Psychology, Industrial-Organisational Psychology, Health Psychology, Rehabilitation Psychology, and others followed by a Ph.D. in the discipline. A graduate can work as a Counselling Psychologist, Neuropsychologist, Health Educator, Public Statistician, Research Psychologist, Rehabilitation Psychologist, Developmentalist, Therapist in various government organizations, non-profit organizations, self-employment, industries, advertising, rehabilitation or psychiatric services, child care services, counselling and therapeutic services.
