About the Course
The Department of history of Kasthurba College for Women was established in the year 2005 during the inception of the college. Taught of Historical studies to the aspiring women students hailing from the rural background of the society was envisaged by the Government of Pondicherry paving way to the establishment of the Department. The Department with the dedicated band of scholarly Faculty members provides quality higher Education in the broad area of Historical studies ranging from Ancient to Post- Modern era as per the curricular of Pondicherry central University. Apart from being inculcated with Academic knowledge of History, the students are encouraged with Historical field visit, co-curricular activities and exposure to the expertise Historical talks by the scholars. The passed out Graduates of this Department are well-placed in the Government service and reputed organization across Pondicherry and Tamilnadu
